The most common laptop size, and the least standard
Fourteen inches has become the default size for work laptops, which means it is also the size with the widest spread of actual dimensions. A 14" MacBook Pro and a 14" business ultrabook can differ by more than a centimetre in width, so a sleeve advertised for “14 inch” is a rough category rather than a fit.
Each sleeve here lists its internal dimensions. Measure your closed laptop and match those, allowing five to ten millimetres either way. The base seam matters at this size too: it carries the weight every time you stand the sleeve on end, and it is where cheap sleeves fail first.
Frequently asked questions
Will a 14 inch sleeve fit a 15.6 inch laptop?
A 14 inch sleeve will not fit a 15.6 inch laptop. The difference is around three centimetres in width, which is far beyond what stretch can absorb.
Do all 14 inch laptops share dimensions?
14 inch laptops do not share dimensions, and can differ by more than a centimetre in width depending on bezel design. Check the closed dimensions against the sleeve's internal measurements.
Which material is most protective?
Padded neoprene and wool felt absorb impact best. Leather protects against scratches and looks better over time but cushions less unless it is lined with foam.
